‘Like the Catholic Church, the entertainment industry has developed a poor reputation as the guardian of the children in its care.

The history of the commercial exploitation of child stars is well documented. But Monday’s announcement that the royal commission would swing the spotlight onto former child actors and industry workers for reports of sex abuse was a warning call for Australia’s television, stage and film industries.

Those with information from Australian television networks, film and TV production companies, child actors, casting agencies and dance schools are specifically requested to tell the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sex Abuse what they know.’
