‘It sounds like a dream for a wayward child: a school with no punishments or rules, and where no pupil is considered naughty, whatever they do.

But this is the reality of Barrowford primary school in Lancashire, which refuses to ‘judge’ pupils and bans teaches from raising their voices.

And the children, aged between four and 11, are urged to sort out any disputes between themselves by talking through their feelings using New-Age-style phrases such as ‘you have emptied my resilience bucket’ instead of getting angry.’
