British Gas profits from family bills soar by 99% – so why have they only cut their prices by 5%?
‘British Gas came under fire from consumer groups today as it announced profits have soared by 99 per cent just weeks after cutting bills by only 5 per cent.
The energy firm said it made £528million from supplying family homes in the first half of this year, more than the profits it made in the whole of 2014.
As bumper numbers were unveiled, parent company Centrica announced it was cutting a total of 4,000 jobs as part of a major overhaul of its operations.’
