‘Children as young as eight say are dissatisfied with their bodies – with the most unhappy facing a higher risk of teenage eating disorders, according to new research.

Relatively small increases in self-esteem at that age reduced the risk of later eating disorders, scientists found.

They tracked the progress of 6,000 children from their primary years to the age of 14 in the largest UK study on juvenile eating disorders.’
