‘British lorry drivers endured a third day trapped in their cabs as migrants and strikers ran riot in Calais.

In scenes haulage bosses described as ‘absolute mayhem’, the stranded truckers were yesterday forced to beg for food and water in 100F heat.

One said: ‘There are no shops, no toilets, you can’t even leave your windows open in case a migrant gets in.’

Another said his lorry had moved just 500 yards in two days. Huge traffic jams stretched almost 50 miles from Calais and Dunkirk to near the Belgian border.’
