Russian president approves destruction of banned foods

‘Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved a plan to destroy illegal products imported from countries that are on Moscow’s sanctions list.

Putin agreed with the plan proposed by Russian Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev during a cabinet meeting on Friday.

“I would like to use this opportunity to ask you and the Russian government to do everything possible… to destroy all the products that are illegally entering the Russian border — right there on the spot,” Tkachev said during the meeting, adding that the current law requires all banned products to be sent back to their place of origin.’
