Murderer!’ – Iain Duncan Smith confronted by furious protest as he visits Job Centre

‘As the person responsible for a Freedom of Information request that eventually shed light on some of the deaths that have taken place as a result of the policies of Iain Duncan Smith, the work and pensions secretary, it is pleasing to see that my work – and that of the other campaigners whose work has supported or complimented mine – has not been in vain.

The full death toll has not been published because the Department for Work and Pensions refuses to check what happens to people it has thrown off benefits, but there is enough evidence to suggest that a future Labour government should launch a full investigation.

For now, we have the spectacle of the Gentleman Ranker being forced to run from one of his own Job Centres to remind us that what we are doing really is worthwhile.’
