The decision to scrap an investigation of fatcat bankers by the FCA has been labeled ‘a blow to the taxpayer’ and a ‘slap in the face for ordinary people’.

The investigation has been dumped as the FCA says other measures are in place to tackle it but many see Osborne’s decision to sack the head of the FCA for wanting to be too tough on bankers as a critical reason.
