The Cult’s Astbury stirs up controversy with these three words

‘The Cult inadvertently waded into a hot debate when Ian Astbury uttered the phrase “All lives matter” during the band’s Saturday set at RBC Ottawa Bluesfest.
The phrase is considered offensive by some who believe it diminishes the efforts of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Others disagree, judging by the comments that flooded in after Astbury issued an apology on the same Twitter medium where the first complaints circulated.
Astbury “sincerely and deeply” apologized for using the phrase, and said he supports Black Lives Matter and “wished to show my solidarity.”’
