Senator Manchin, Father of EpiPen CEO Under Fire, Called Out the Wrong Kind of Healthcare Abuse

‘When Mylan Pharmaceuticals’ EpiPen—used to treat life threatening allergic reactions—skyrocketed in price, Capitol Hill called the scandal “outrageous.” The 600 percent price hike was instantly condemned by Democrats and Republicans, including Hillary Clinton. And there have been calls to investigate.

Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, a Democrat whose daughter relies on EpiPen, urged the Senate Judiciary Committee to investigate the price increase of the medication, calling it ‘unjustified,’” CNN reported, and added “Meanwhile, the daughter of Sen. Joe Manchin, the Democrat of West Virginia, has a very different personal connection. His daughter Heather Bresch heads Mylan, the company that produces EpiPens.”‘
