Fears hundreds of rural pharmacies across the country face being closed down because of cuts in subsidies

Ministers fear that hundreds of rural chemists around the country will close due to cuts in subsidies, it was reported last night.
In private letters seen by The Telegraph, health secretary Jeremy Hunt and Chancellor Philip Hammond warned Theresa May last August that up to 900 pharmacies might close as a result of the cuts.
This is despite repeated claims by ministers that no closures were likely.’
