‘The Whitehall mandarin who has presided over Britain’s foreign aid farce will quit today amid sustained criticism of how he has wasted taxpayers’ money, the Mail can reveal.
Sir Mark Lowcock will step down as permanent secretary of the Department for International Development after dishing out more than £60billion during six years in charge.
The civil servant, nicknamed ‘Sir Waste-a-lot’, leaves the controversial aid ministry where he has spent his whole career following clashes with International Development Secretary Priti Patel.’
