Ron Paul and Norm Singleton of Campaign for Liberty on President Trump’s Remarks on Gun Control
Campaign for Liberty Chairman Ron Paul and President Norman Singleton made the following statements in response to President Trump’s endorsement of various gun control measures, including giving the government power to confiscate guns without due process:
Campaign for Liberty Chairman Ron Paul — “President Trump’s endorsement of gun control will, by disarming law-abiding citizens, result in more innocent lives lost to armed criminals. Particularly disturbing is President Trump’s suggestion that government be allowed to confiscate an individual’s firearms without due process. This proposal would, if implemented, not only lead to massive violations of Americans’ gun rights but would set a dangerous precedent that could lead to violations of other constitutional rights.”
Campaign for Liberty President Norm Singleton — “All who support limited constitutional government and individual liberty should be outraged by President Trump’s suggestion that government be allowed to confiscate firearms without due process. This is the type of police practice associated with a totalitarian state not a free republic.”
Campaign for Liberty will fight any attempt to infringe on our Second Amendment rights and work to make Congress pass Representative Thomas Massie’s Safe Students Act (H.R. 34). H.R. 34 repeals the misnamed Safe Schools Act, so America’s children are no longer left defenseless against mass shooters.
