As Lyndon LaRouche Once Said: “Get the Tractors Rolling.”

The brilliant success of the Helsinki Summit between Presidents Trump and Putin brings to mind an important lesson from an earlier event, the 1993 Oslo Accord and its aftermath. Following that historic accord, signed by Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat in Washington in 1993, Lyndon LaRouche praised the effort (negotiated in secret with the Clinton Administration, keeping the British out), but warned that the two sides must immediately “get the tractors rolling,” or the British and their assets would stall, and eventually destroy, the process. The advice was not accepted — the IMF and World Bank were put in charge of the development process spelled out in the agreement, imposing typical IMF political and financial “conditionalities,” and, as a result, nothing happened, ending up in a second intifada.

Today the warning is even more urgent. Trump has shown the courage to stand up to the traitors in the intelligence community, in the Congress, in the press, who, Trump noted in a tweet this morning, “HATE the fact that I got along well with President Putin of Russia. They would rather GO TO WAR than see this.” He gave it a name: “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

But, the potent proposal put forward by the two presidents, to set up four joint task forces — in cyber security, military security, business cooperation, and political/military policy — must be acted upon immediately. The McCarthyite hysteria from Trump’s enemies must be taken seriously, although they enjoy less and less support from the American people. Their panicked response — screaming that Trump is a traitor who must be impeached, even a call from a Congressman for a military coup — must be squashed by positive action on all fronts.

Trump was elected to get the U.S. out of the “perpetual war” policy of the Bush and Obama regimes, and to prevent a nuclear war with Russia and China. He is now doing exactly that. The LaRouche organization, through its organizing activities across the country over the past 48 hours, has found an enthusiastic and inspired response within the population to the Helsinki Summit, and to LaRouche’s idea that Trump, Putin, and their mutual friend Xi Jinping, working together, can indeed end the threat of a thermonuclear holocaust.

Most important, such collaboration between Russia, China, and the United States, which will gain support from India, Japan, South Korea, and many other nations on every continent, must take steps to replace the broken financial structure centered in London and New York. Restoring the American System within the United States, as proposed in LaRouche’s Four Laws, is the only means to prevent the onrushing collapse of trillions of dollars in speculative gambling debts from bringing down the real economy with it.

The core structure for the required new paradigm now exists in the form of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and the new financial institutions created along side this New Silk Road process. LaRouche’s Schiller Institute will be releasing within days a 440-page, completely new version of the 2014 Special Report, “The New Silk Road Becomes the World Land-Bridge.” The new report documents the massive development process launched across Eurasia, Africa, and Ibero-America through the spirit of the New Silk Road over these past four years, and points to the necessary extension of this new paradigm over the next 50 years. The political process launched by President Trump’s courageous summits with Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin can and must be solidified and sustained through the ideas presented in this new Schiller Institute report. That defines our immediate task ahead.
