Fireside Chat with Will Wertz, August 16, 2018
August 15, 2018 just passed and on the 47th anniversary of the same date in 1971, the handwriting is on the wall. The Belshazzars of the City of London may have attempted to hold a feast, but the mysterious hand of God appeared again to write on the wall. We sit on a quadrillion and counting pile of debt accumulated under the auspices of the modern British Empire, the City of London and it is about to blow, creating world-wide devastation far worse than 2008. As Lyndon LaRouche repeatedly said in 2008, stupid people will talk about a variety of triggers and point their fingers in blame when it blows up, the same idiots who were gutless when he proposed the only solution to the disintegration of the system back in 2007-2008. It is a fundamental error to claim that this gutlessness is solely the province of the United States or that a solution is possible without the United States. Any scheme for saving the planet which does not involve the United States is dangerous romanticism, LaRouche repeatedly warned. It is equally delusory to think that the U.S. economy is sovereign when London owns the dollar, or that any economic solution in the United States can be sustained in this geometry, or in isolation.
The United States, Russia, China, and India represent the combination of nations who can defeat the British Empire. They are the nations who can put forth a bankruptcy reorganization of the world’s economies. They are the nations who can negotiate a new fixed exchange rate system, a new Bretton Woods, allowing for the next stage of full set human development. They are the nations which must act urgently now. As LaRouche said back then, you can either choose to do this, or you can watch the destruction of the entire planet. Any sane person will choose to save the planet.
World-wide, the LaRouche movement yesterday launched an urgent drive for a Four Powers agreement to reorganize, in bankruptcy, the world’s useless debt and to launch a new fixed exchange rate monetary system in which sovereign nation state economies negotiate terms of trade based on the principles of Westphalia and the “spirit of the New Silk Road” – cooperative advances toward the next stage of human development – creation of a Renaissance out of what has been a very dark age. Will Wertz, who with Dennis Speed just led the class series on LaRouche’s science of physical economy, joins Dennis for tonight’s discussion focused on this urgent initiative.
