Will Impeachment Coup Kill Artemis, or Will We Kill the Coup?

The Fiscal 2020 funding to begin the acceleration of the Moon-Mars mission Project Artemis towards a human return to the Moon in 2024, remains completely uncertain as that fiscal year begins on Tuesday. Rapidly defeating the Democrats’ pseudo-impeachment of President Donald Trump and the British Empire coup that lies behind it, could determine that the Moon-Mars mission can take off.

The White House and NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine make clear that if Americans are to be back on the Moon by that deadline, the $5 billion “space colonization” part of the NASA budget has to be increased to $6.6 billion in FY2020, as just a “down payment” on the much larger funding of it needed in the following four fiscal years.

EIR’s understanding is that the House of Representatives covered NASA only in a continuing resolution through the start of the Thanksgiving recess Nov. 20, which added nothing at all to the human space exploration budget. The Senate apparently adjourned for two weeks Friday Sept. 27 without voting on a NASA appropriation; but the Senate Appropriations Committee on Sept. 26 had raised space exploration to $6.2 billion from the $5 billion of FY2019, and that awaits a vote by the full Senate. Some $745 million of that increase was for the really new element of Project Artemis so far, the new manned Moon lander; this is several hundred million short of what is minimally needed, and appears to be most of the shortfall. Beyond the full Senate vote, lies a conference committee of the wide-apart House and Senate.

Administrator Bridenstine and other NASA officials directly involved with the lander’s development have said that these shortfalls must be made up by the end of the calendar year to keep the take-off of Project Artemis on schedule. As to getting more funds from commercial companies or foreign partners to make up for insufficient U.S. funding, the NASA chief put a sharp message on Twitter Sunday, concerning the SpaceX company’s unveiling of its Mars Starship development program.

Bridenstine said: “I am looking forward to the SpaceX announcement tomorrow [Monday, Sept. 30]. In the meantime, Commercial Crew is years behind schedule. NASA expects to see the same level of enthusiasm focused on the investments of the American taxpayer. It’s time to deliver.” The tweet was not a rebuke to SpaceX, but a strong message to Congress, and an indication of how existential the launch-funding of Project Artemis is.

In the now three years’ British intelligence-led coup attempt against President Trump, the latest, pseudo-impeachment phase (an impeachment inquiry ordered by the Speaker without the required vote of the House) is a gamble that the sheer weight of the national media’s coordinated “information warfare” can make the public tolerate a stampede of the House to actual impeachment. If key House Democrats think the gamble is working, they will dig in against “giving the President anything,” including the Moon-Mars adventure.

But this coup against Trump is of the same format, by the very same CIA and FBI forces, for the same British intelligence reasons, as the then-unprecedented persecution and prosecution of economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche during the 1980s, when LaRouche had attained international respect and influence and a strong American grass-roots movement.

LaRouche’s movement today is thus in the unique position to destroy this very vulnerable impeachment-coup attempt, while bringing forward LaRouche’s case again for exoneration.

If coup is broken up, we can see Congress pushed hard from both above and below to fund President Trump’s Moon-Mars vision, which was met with Americans’ excitement and optimism.
