The National Security Agency has figured out how to hide spying software deep within hard drives, allowing them to monitor and eavesdrop on the majority of the world’s computers – even when they are not connected to the internet. The Moscow-based security software maker Kaspersky Lab said it has found personal computers in 30 countries infected with one or more of the spying programs, with the most infections seen in Iran, followed by Russia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Mali, Syria, Yemen and Algeria. The targets included government and military institutions, telecommunication companies, banks, energy companies, nuclear researchers, media, and Islamic activists. … Continue reading

I was having a dream.  A wonderful dream, a magical dream where beautiful Hollywood starlets were pleading to seduce me, en masse, in return for giving them leading roles in my next blockbuster film, “The Federal Reserve Is Eating Topless Pole-Dancing Vixens Alive, And Horribly Destroying The Rest Of Us, Too.” It’s a sad tale of monetary insanity where the Federal Reserve created so incredibly much excess money and credit.  It’s perhaps even tragic, and which is why the film was initially titled “The Federal Reserve Is Slowly Eating You And Your Children Alive,” which could be more or less … Continue reading

A plan to beam powerful radio messages to possible alien civilisations on distant planets has caused consternation among some scientists who believe it could spell doom for humanity on Earth. Leading figures behind the 50-year-old Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (Seti), which uses radio telescopes to listen passively for unnatural signals from space, have now proposed an “active” form of search known as Meti – Messages to Extraterrestrial Intelligence. These signals will be aimed at the parts of the galaxy where Earth-like planets and life may exist, based on the growing number of “exoplanets” beyond our solar system identified by the … Continue reading

It now appears that the hard drive companies had better get off their ass and publicly state they work with the NSA or bring suit for interception of their products that threatens their business and identify the carriers who are involved with the NSA. The NSA’s Office of Tailored Access Operations (TAO) has been already exposed as operating a covert interception scheme of deliveries of new computer equipment. Der Spiegel in December 2013, citing a top secret document revealing this practice. PC World has now weighed in. They have bluntly stated that destroying your hard drive is the only way to stop … Continue reading

They always know how to get what they want from you. They know your weaknesses better than anyone, even yourself. They can always turn a no into a yes, and they don’t seem particularly concerned with laws, safety, or right and wrong. They’re the most predatory members of our society, and they’ll take what they want, and hang you out to dry. They’re also a bit more complicated than all that. In recent years, the term “sociopath” has become a loaded word. Uttering it creates an immediate knee jerk response in the listener, and for anyone who doesn’t have any … Continue reading

For better or for worse, our lives are full of stress.  The weather, our jobs, the economy, financial woes and poor health can all contribute to stress.  In addition, for most of us, the biggest stress is simply that there are not enough hours in the day. Add prepping and learning new skills to the mix and life can get dicey. Whatever the reason, many of us are under a relentless cloud of stress that never lets up.  We find ourselves enveloped by an undercurrent of tension that exists as we go about our day, even during normal times.  I … Continue reading

John Taylor Gatto is a great advocate of home schooling. Three times, he won teacher of the year in New York City. Then he won teacher of the year in New York State. Then he quit teaching. He started writing books on why tax-funded education is a disaster. He wrote a classic book on the history of America’s public schools: The Underground History of American Education. Lew Rockwell posted the chapters on his site. If you would like a free copy, chapter by chapter, click the link. Read more on archive.lewrockwell.com

The trouble with the money printing madness in the Eccles Building is that it generates huge deformations, misallocations and speculative excesses in the financial markets. Eventually these bubbles splatter, as they have twice this century.  The resulting carnage, needless to say, is not small. Combined financial and real estate asset markdowns totaled about $7 trillion after the dotcom bust and $15 trillion during the 2008-2009 financial crisis. Yes, the Fed has managed to reflate this cheap money bubble for the third time now, but the certainty that it will splatter once again is not the issue at hand. What gets lost in the … Continue reading

WASHINGTON DC –  The hostess of our elegant Georgetown dinner party was breathing fire. We had been waiting for over an hour for the guest of honor, renowned journalist Arnaud de Borchgrave. Suddenly, the door burst open and a modestly sized man with a deep tan bowed to our enraged hostess and proclaimed, “a thousand pardons!  I was on the phone to Paris with President Chirac, and I had Henry Kissinger on hold.” That was vintage Arnaud, a mixture of outrageous chutzpah and burnished charm. Even our red-faced hostess had to laugh and forgive his tardiness. De Borchgrave died of … Continue reading
