‘No right to stay anonymous,’ CNN analyst says… after months of channel’s unnamed source reporting

Utah’s ‘ag-gag’ law unconstitutional & violates free speech – Federal judge rules

“I have some pretty severe things we’re thinking about,” Trump said of North Korea at a news conference in Warsaw. “Doesn’t mean we’re going to do them.” What President Trump really meant is that he has painted the US into a corner with all his threats of war and really does not know what to do next.   North Korea called his ‘or else’ bluff.  Good.  No action on North Korea is better than any conceivable military operation. Last week the North Korea test fired a new, longer-ranged strategic missile, Hwasong-14, that US experts claimed was capable of hitting Alaska and … Continue reading →

A series of fake news articles (see here, here and here), blackmail of anonymous Reddit users who had the audacity to poke fun at them and a couple of undercover videos from Project Veritas revealing CNN producers admitting their own news is “mostly bullshit,” seems to be taking a toll on CNN’s ratings. As The Federalist notes in the table below, for the week of June 26th – July 2nd, CNN’s primetime shows (Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon) managed to draw about 6% fewer viewers than multi-decade old re-runs of “Yogi Bear,” “Full House,” and “Friends” which air in the same time slots on Nick-At-Nite. Mann … Continue reading →

I was first introduced to H.L. Mencken by a Jewish friend when I was in my 20’s. I’ve been hooked ever since. Times have changed a lot since then and the Republic is no more. But even so, there once was a time in this country when the press wasn’t controlled and paid to spit out propaganda. For one brief shining moment, it published freely, unfettered by dictate from the government or the mob. This man lived on the edge of that time. His wit, his intellectual ability to think outside the box of events, the people and their culture, … Continue reading →

I, Prester John, am the lord of lords, and I surpass all the kings of the entire world in wealth, virtue and power…Milk and honey flow freely in our lands; poison can do no harm, nor do any noisy frogs croak.  There are no scorpions, no serpents creeping in the grass. –        Purported letter of Prester John to Rome and Constantinople, twelfth century. The Silk Roads: A New History of the World, by Peter Frankopan. I am beginning a new, exotic journey, a journey through the history of the Silk Roads – the region from Mesopotamia east to western China.  When the author … Continue reading →
