Marine Le Pen accuses rivals of promoting ‘project fear’ as Brexit looms large in presidential debate

Didn’t think it was possible, did you? A Strategy for the Right, first published in 1992 in the Rothbard-Rockwell Report, it is the opening chapter in a compilation of Rothbard’s essays, entitled “The Irrepressible Rothbard.” What I call the Old Right is suddenly back! Rothbard felt the proper home for libertarians was with the right – the old right made up of anti-New Deal elements, for example, H.L. Mencken, Albert Jay Nock, Rose Wilder Lane, and Garet Garrett.  He also points to Howard Buffet (Warren’s dad) and Robert Taft. The old right also included those who were against American involvement … Continue reading →

Theresa May will trigger the two-year process of leaving the European Union on March 29, No 10 has announced. Sir Tim Barrow, the UK’s ambassador to the EU, formally notified the office of Donald Tusk, the EU Council president, with a letter on Monday morning. On Wednesday next week, Mrs. May will formally notify Mr. Tusk by writing him a letter and then giving a statement to MPs later in Parliament. The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: “There will be a letter. We have always been clear we would trigger by the end of March and we have met that timetable.” The spokesman … Continue reading →

Adapted from a talk given at the Authors Forum at the 2017 Austrian Economics Research Conference at the Mises Institute. Gun Control and the Second Amendment, my twenty-fifth book, is a collection of nine essays relating to gun control and the Second Amendment that I wrote over the past six years for Campaign for Liberty, the Tenth Amendment Center, and the Future of Freedom Foundation. Although all of the essays are online, being the humanitarian and entrepreneur that I am, I thought it would be a good idea to publish them in booklet form. The essays are arranged in chronological … Continue reading →

You know what everyone is really nostalgic for? The good old days during the Cold War when everyone thought humanity was going to be wiped out by a nuclear holocaust. There was something cozy about nuclear fallout shelters and cowering under a desk as the air raid sirens blared in the distance. Now-a-days, people don’t seem to be peeing their pants as often about the possible extinction of our species at the hands of governments and their nefarious technologies winding up in the wrong hands. The Trump election was a good little boost to the doom the media sells, but … Continue reading →

This article is excerpted from Wall Street, Banks, and American Foreign Policy, chapter 8, “Rockefeller, Morgan, and War” (1984; 2011). During the 1930s, the Rockefellers pushed hard for war against Japan, which they saw as competing with them vigorously for oil and rubber resources in Southeast Asia and as endangering the Rockefellers’ cherished dreams of a mass “China market” for petroleum products. On the other hand, the Rockefellers took a noninterventionist position in Europe, where they had close financial ties with German firms such as I.G. Farben and Co., and very few close relations with Britain and France. The Morgans, … Continue reading →

Over the weekend, we reviewed the state of the solar data for March 2017. Now, there’s a two-week straight lack of sunspots, the longest stretch since 2010. Overview The sun is currently blank with no visible sunspots and this is the 14th straight day with a blank look which is the longest such stretch since April 2010 according to spaceweather.com. Historically weak solar cycle 24 continues to transition away from its solar maximum phase and towards the next solar minimum. In April 2010 – the last time there was a two week stretch with no visible sunspots –  the sun … Continue reading →

This Thursday, the House of Representatives will vote on a Republican bill that supposedly repeals Obamacare. However, the bill retains Obamacare’s most destructive features. That is not to say this legislation is entire without merit. For example, the bill expands the amount individuals can contribute to a health savings account (HSA). HSAs allow individuals to save money tax-free to pay for routine medical expenses. By restoring individuals’ control over healthcare dollars, HSAs remove the distortions introduced in the healthcare market by government policies encouraging over-reliance on third-party payers. The legislation also contains other positive tax changes, such a provision allowing … Continue reading →

Those who support the idea of globalism and strive for closer European integration believe the results of the Dutch election indicate the tide has been stemmed, with Eurosceptics and «populist» forces on the defensive. The buck stops here. This is the end of domino effect. The reshaping of Europe has been prevented. The pro-NATO, pro-EU establishment elites are to see glory days again. Is it really so if you get to the bottom of it? The future of Europe remains to be at stake, including the UK, Germany, and France. Will the concept of United Europe exist in one form or another? Will Scotland … Continue reading →

The New York Times print story on the front page of January 20th, 2017 read: “Wiretapped Data Used in Inquiry of Trump Aides”. Of course, now, the New York Times is trying to downplay that story simply because Trump said Obama had wiretapped his campaign. Since “wiretapped data” was being used to investigate President Trump’s associates and they are going over those conversations, it seems self-evident that someone has the recorded conversations. INFOWARS is reporting that have evidence now of the wiretapping from a law enforcement source. How is it possible to go over conversations to investigate if any of … Continue reading →

“Mass surveillance is different.  If you’re truly worried about                attacks coming from anyone anywhere,                           you need to spy on everyone everywhere.”                                                                                                        Data and Goliath  p.90 Our NSA (National Security Agency) does not have an open and transparent history.  The NSA was created in secret in 1952 not by Congress, but by a pen stroke of Harry Truman in a 7-page document that remained classified for years.  Even its name was undisclosed. And it stayed hidden until finally, in 1971, NSA analyst Perry Fellwock blew the whistle on NSA and their secret program Echelon with … Continue reading →
