The FDA has been on a crusade against natural medicine that has spanned decades. Their skepticism and perhaps disdain for natural medicine could simply be because at the moment, they are untouchable. In 1938, a U.S. senator (and homeopath) named Royal Copeland passed a law classifying homeopathic treatments as drugs. Since then, these products are deemed wholly natural and cannot be patented or regulated in any way, thus acting as a thorn in side for the FDA. In fact, under the law, the FDA is required to regulate homeopathic remedies as drugs, but at the same time acknowledges that there is no evidence showing that homeopathy … Continue reading

The western is the great drama of man in nature. The frontier reveals man’s true character, stripped of state and civilization, for better or worse. Over the decades, Hollywood screenwriters have influenced our view of the old West. Current perceptions owe more to 1950s westerns than actual history. Watching those old movies, it seems there was a lynch mob in every town, murderous gangs constantly preying on helpless pioneers. Only the cavalry or lawman could impose order on frontier chaos. If our wars in the Greater Middle East ever end, it’s a pretty safe bet that they will end badly — and it won’t be the first time. The “fall of Saigon” in 1975 was the quintessential bitter end to a war. Oddly enough, however, we’ve since found ways to reimagine that denouement which miraculously transformed a failed and brutal war of American aggression into a tragic humanitarian rescue mission. Our most popular Vietnam end-stories bury the long, ghastly history that preceded the “fall,” while managing to absolve us of our primary responsibility for creating the disaster. Think of them … Continue reading

California – -(Ammoland.com)- I mentioned that gun owners are now considered mainstream in most of America.  Yes, gun owners have finally archived.. ordinary.  Yawn.  Measured across the nation, about one in eight adults have a concealed carry permit.  More than a third of American families admit they have guns at home.  This is significant because criminals act differently when citizens are armed.  My neighbor who carries is obviously able to protect herself, but she makes the rest of us safer as well.  This is more than theory.  We have experience to prove it. This is how the theory works. Fewer … Continue reading
