If you didn’t believe the Deep State is beyond democratic control before, you now have no choice – not after the last minute mugging the Donald received on his way to releasing these ancient JFK assassination files. And believe us, they are indeed ancient. Your editor was sitting in high school civics class learning about the difference between America’s open society and democratic government and the secretive Kremlin dictatorship of the Soviet Union when news of the Dallas tragedy came over the school’s PA. Needless to say, the theory that the assassination was the work of a lone gunman in … Continue reading

Catalonia threw Spain into a constitutional crisis yesterday after declaring independence following a controversial referendum. But the region is not alone in its hope for independence and the aftershocks of the Catalonia crisis could further splinter the EU with dozens of regions hoping to return to autonomy and fighting their own battle to regain control. And this map, which shows the sheer number of regions with movements wanting greater autonomy or secessionist movements, makes a worrying read for EU chiefs. President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, has admitted “cracks” are appearing in the EU after Catalonia declared itself independent … Continue reading

Many people fear the word fat, as it has a negative connotation. We are bombarded by packages that say “low fat,” “reduced fat,” or “no fat,” which clearly goes to show that as a society, we don’t want fat anywhere near us. But in actuality, we need fat, and knowing which fat to eat can go a long way in improving our health. You see, fat can be healthy as long as you are choosing the right sources of it. Unhealthy fats include trans-fat and saturated fat. These types of fat are found in processed food and red meat. High … Continue reading

Roger Stone, a long-time Republican political operative and adviser to President Donald Trump, has been permanently banned from Twitter, it was learned on Saturday. The social media service barred Stone after he unleashed an expletive-filled tirade on Friday aimed at CNN commentators. In a tweet addressed to anchor Don Lemon, Stone wrote: ‘There are no credible “fact checks” that clear the Clintons on uranium. Even the people at CNN say you are a buffoon behind your back.’ Stone was referring to the sale of American uranium to a Russian government-backed company during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state under President Barack Obama. Time to … Continue reading

I’ve long held that if a problem can be solved by creating $1 trillion out of thin air and buying a raft of assets with that $1 trillion, then central banks will solve the problem by creating the $1 trillion out of thin air—nothing could be easier. This is the lesson of the past eight years: if a problem can be solved by creating new money and buying assets, then central banks will solve that problem. Problem: stock market is declining. Solution: create new money and buy, buy, buy stock index funds. Problem solved! Market stops falling and quickly rebounds as … Continue reading

Dear Readers, some of you are pushing me to continue with the Las Vegas shooting story while others are asking to know what to make of the release of files pertaining to President Kennedy’s assassination. I appreciate that you are interested and are unsatisfied with official explanations. My answer is that we already know, thanks to exhaustively researched books such as James W. Douglass’ JFK and the Unspeakable (Simon & Schuster, 2008), far more than is in the released files. My answer is also that it doesn’t matter what we know or what the facts are, the official story will never be … Continue reading

Twice a week, I receive a spasm message from Congressman Gaetz. They are always boring. They refer to some obscure bill he voted for. No one cares except donors who want him to vote for or against this bill. The average voter has no interest. Why should he? The function of emails from a Congressman is not to provide information on his philosophy of government. It is not to report on the central issues he regards as the heart of his political life. The function of emails is this: to keep his name in front of voters in his district. This … Continue reading

In the last 48 years, since 1969, an investor who put $1,000 into the Dow would today have $33,000. That is a gain of 3,200% or 7.6% annually. On the other hand, someone who put $1,000 into gold in 1969 would today have $37,000 or 7.8% annual return. But if you add dividends to the Dow, the return is far superior at 10.7% with the dividends reinvested. 1969 seems like an arbitrary start year but it happens to be the year that I started my first job. No one could of course have predicted any of those returns. The previous … Continue reading

What the government is good at is collecting taxes, taking away your freedoms and killing people. It’s not good at much else. – Tom Clancy …than modern politicians in at least one respect: these ancient tyrants made no pretense of being the agents of those over whom they ruled. They established their vicious authority in the same way all political systems of power are created: by violent conquest. Men and women obeyed these thugs for one reason: the fear that their defiance would result in instant death. Despots gradually realized that their power over others could be made more secure by convincing … Continue reading
