During her years as a Magistrate Judge in Pinedale, Wyoming, Ruth Neely performed dozens of civil marriage ceremonies. State law (Sect. 20-1-106[a]) specifies that magistrates, like “every licensed or ordained minister of the gospel, bishop, priest, or rabbi … may perform the ceremony of marriage in this state.” Presiding at a civil wedding is a discretionary function of the magistrate’s office, not a mandatory duty. Neely had an unqualified right to decline a request to preside at a wedding, for any reason that suited her. Prior to December 2014, she had never performed a same-sex wedding ceremony, because they were … Continue reading

Donald Trump has already promised to make the Republican National Convention in Cleveland more ‘showbiz,’ but now sources are talking about what he might do. For one, he’s thinking of debuting his running-mate, live on national television. Politico is reporting that Trump is trying to ‘maximize the drama and spectacle’ of the four-day affair, which usually includes back-to-back political speeches, broken up with the occasional musical act.   The most interesting thing to happen at the Republican National Convention in Tampa in 2012 was actor Clint Eastwood’s rambling speech, in which he told off an empty chair. ‘This is the part … Continue reading

That Hillary Clinton has—–unaccountably——stood by her man for 40 years is her particular foible. But now she wants 320 million Americans to stand by him, too, by electing her President so she can make Bill the nation’s economic czar: During a speech in Kentucky Sunday she referred to “my husband, who I will put in charge of revitalizing the economy ’cause he knows what he’s doing.” Actually, he doesn’t. Herein follows a two-part essay on why Bill and Hillary Clinton had precious little to do with the vaunted prosperity of the 1990s, and why another twofer would be exceedingly bad for the nation. In … Continue reading

Here is a quick pop quiz. What happens if we lie to the government? What happens if the government lies to us? Does it matter who does the lying? Last year, the Obama administration negotiated an agreement with the government of Iran permitting Iran to obtain certain materials for the construction of nuclear facilities. It also permitted the release of tens of billions of dollars in Iranian assets that had been held in U.S. banks and that the courts had frozen, and it lifted trade sanctions. In exchange, certain inspections of Iranian nuclear facilities can occur under certain circumstances. During … Continue reading

Ambrose Evans-Pritchard is upset. He is upset with the IMF.  He is upset with the US Treasury Department.  He is upset with Barack Obama.  You might say he was gutted. What has caused him to be so cheesed off? If the International Monetary Fund and its co-conspirators in the Treasury wish to deter undecided voters from flirting with Brexit, they have certainly failed in my case. They have each told the Brits what to do about Brexit. Having listened to their irritating lectures, I am more inclined to opt for defiance, for their mask of objectivity has fallen. Ambrose is joining … Continue reading

Following the Senate’s unanimous passage of JASTA (the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act), allowing victims of the 9/11 terror attacks to sue the monarchy of Saudi Arabia, the survivors and victims’ families issued a statement of gratitude and determination, which chose as its target, Barack Obama. “We are tired,” they said, “of witnessing President Obama block our path to justice.”

They identified the right target. Obama plans to veto the JASTA legislation, protecting the Saudi and British sponsorship of jihadi terrorism worldwide. He has refused for eight years to allow release of the secret final chapter (“the 28 pages”) of the Congressional Inquiry into the 9/11 murders, and other evidence on the role Saudi Arabia played.

A Congressional vote to release that evidence is coming closer, a victory for the mobilization led by Lyndon LaRouche’s “Manhattan Project”: 5-10 more Members of Congress sign on to the bill to declassify that secret evidence every week now.

Obama will keep it all secret, as long as he can and stays in office — and that is the question.

At stake is the truth about the continuous series of disastrous wars United States forces have had to fight, kill, and die in since 9/11/01, while its people have gone through economic and psychological hell. Obama has been at war longer than any president in America’s history: all of it without Congressional consent, unconstitutional, and leading to the spread of chaos and terrorism across the Mideast and North Africa.

Since the overthrow and elimination of Qaddafi in Libya, we have made it clear that the target of these wars is Russia — along with encirclement and confrontation with China.

Yet these nations, along with India, are offering cooperative infrastructure development and economic growth to countries all over the world.

Now the rapidly developing diplomatic and economic cooperation of Vladimir Putin’s Russia with Japan is infuriating Obama, and Wall Street and London. Obama demanded outright that Japanese Prime Minister Abe not go the Russia for a summit with President Putin; now two more are planned.

Putin’s Syria intervention has not only stopped the spread of terrorism warfare within and from Syria; it is one of a series of creative initiatives which have blocked Obama’s war provocations. Putin’s initiatives, like that with Japan, keep raising the potential for peaceful resolutions, and for economic and scientific progress.

That is the actual character of leadership the United States needs. Its problem is not the presidential candidates, bad as they are; it’s the current President. Obama is increasingly cornered by those mobilizing for justice, against “permanent war.” Force him out of office.

I’m in, keep me connected.
