Art In Protest
On Wednesday, May 25th, 2011 the Department of [in]Justice threatened to cancel all flights to and from the entire state of Texas due to the House Bill HB 1937 in which would disallow the TSA criminal perpetrators, I mean, employees, from groping travelers’ genitals. The TSA has had numerous complaints because their practice in these “enhanced pat-downs” is to not only pat you down on the outside of your clothing, but to now stick their hands inside your pants and other enveloping articles of clothing. These agents don’t even change their gloves between “searches”, which I would think would be a serious health concern with the potential of spreading sexually transmitted diseases.
The bill had passed in the House unanimously, a vote of 138-0, and was assumed would be a sure win once reaching the Senate. Instead, the federal government intervened via the Department of Justice by threatening to cancel all flights in and out of Texas, I would assume indefinitely, if this bill were to pass and become law. And thus incited the spineless lawmakers to tuck their tails betwixt their legs and gave up.
As all of this was being illustrated on the Alex Jones Show, Alex had become so infuriated that he initiated a spontaneous demonstration at the Texas capitol to protest. Hundreds of Texans gathered to have their voices heard. I applaud all of those protestors, this is a prime example of the Spirit that was once in every one of us, but somehow became lost along the way. The videos of people forcing the Institution to hear them were so inspirational that I would liken them to art. When you perceive art to its fullest extent, be it music, paintings, sculptures, poetry, etc, you can often see that it comes from the heart and it has the ability to feel as if to light a fire inside you. It’s like your mind sees an amazing creation and its own creativity is trying to burst from you. We are all creators that have been turned into consumers. We sit with idle hands and busy eyes absorbing such ridiculously mundane distractions as Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, Facebook, etc.
Watch a few of the videos, become inspired. And remember: YOU do have the power to change ANYTHING.
