Theresa May: Don’t call police to report a crime, visit a website instead

‘Victims of non-emergency crimes in England and Wales should report offences online to save police time and money, the Home Secretary has said.

Theresa May said cutting the number of phone calls into police would free up officers for frontline work, and could help save millions of pounds.

But campaigners warned that making people report crimes using a website would put “artificial barriers” between the police and the public.’
