Mum-of-six with learning disabilities faces being restrained and ‘forcibly sterilised’

‘A mum-of-six could be sterilised after social services and medics have forced their way into her home and restrained her.

The mum, who is in her 30s, has had her six children taken into care and the authorities want to prevent her from getting pregnant again with her partner, as they say it could put her life at risk.

Health authority and social services bosses have asked a judge to authorise forced entry into her home, “necessary restraint” and sterilisation, because she lacks the mental capacity to make decisions about treatment.’
