Welsh locals were so worried when leading Muslim was invited to speak at village hall – they called the police

‘Dr Kidwai said: ‘I was invited as a body from a different background to come and talk because we (Muslims) are so much in the media.

‘After my talk five people came to me and said, “When we heard that a Muslim was coming to speak to us, I went to the police and reported it.”

‘The police then went to the organisers to question why I was coming.’

Dr Kidwai also said he was told by the group that they were frightened that a Muslim was coming to speak to them because the only thing they ever hear about Islam is ISIS.’
