Congress Should Kill the Death Tax
If there’s one thing Americans should agree on, it’s that death should not be a taxable event.
Over the past five years, Campaign for Liberty has participated in an effort to fully repeal the estate tax, or death tax as it ought to be known, with the Family Business Coalition.
For the first time in a decade a repeal bill is moving forward in Congress with a vote on H.R. 1105, the Death Tax Repeal Act of 2015 expected Thursday, April 16th!
Many folks don’t realize the death tax was initially intended as a temporary tax to fund US involvement in WWI.
It would seem Reagan’s quip that “The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a government program,” continues to prove true.
Unless, you and I take action in support of H.R. 1105 and S. 683 to bury the death tax once and for all.
Please take a moment to contact your representative today and urge them to vote YES on H.R. 1105 on Thursday, April 16. Then contact your senators and urge them to cosponsor S. 683 and take whatever actions they can to secure a roll call vote in the Senate on this important issue.
If you need more information about why it’s vital to repeal the death tax, read the coalition letter Campaign for Liberty recently signed below.
