New Nepal earthquake – What we know so far
‘Nepal has been hit by a second major earthquake, registering 7.3 on the Richter Scale, according to the US Geological Survey.
The scale of casualties and loss of buildings are not yet clear, but several deaths have already been reported. The epicentre was 47 miles east of the capital Kathmandu, on the way to Everest Base Camp.
The first earthquake, which hit on April 25, struck the hills above the town of Gorkha, to the west of the heavily populated Kathmandu Valley, causing widespread but sporadic devastation to a string of towns to the east.’
