Westminster paedophile ring allegations: Harvey Proctor challenges police to charge him
‘Harvey Proctor, the former Conservative MP, has attacked Scotland Yard’s decision to search his home as part of an inquiry into historical child sex abuse, and claimed he has been “hung out to dry” by police.
Mr Proctor challenged the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Metropolitan Police to “put up or shut up” following the search by officers from Operation Midland in early March.
The 68-year-old said the latest police actions had “ruined” 28 years’ of rehabilitation since he was convicted of gross indecency in 1987 after paying for sex with men aged under 21, which was at the time a criminal offence.
“I’m making this statement because I have been hung out to dry, my life is in suspended animation,” he told the Independent on Sunday.’
