G7 is a Show – The Real Deal Is At Bilderberg
[The following post is by TDV Editor-In-Chief, Jeff Berwick]
Just like with anything in life you never really know what is going on until you see it with your own eyes.
I described last weekend how the G7 was so different from what I expected. They should just call the G7 a big party for journalists… that’s almost all it was. Journalists, thousands of them, were feasting off of $900 bottles of champagne, amazing food and treated to shows, DJs and parties while they waited for Barack O’Bomber to show up and eat some sausage and drink some beer and get their photo. In many ways it seemed like those parties the elite have in the movies “The Hunger Games” and laugh about the poor people in the districts.
Then we drove less than an hour down the road to Austria for the Bilderberg conference. Our first hint that this was something much more important came nearly immediately as they closed the roads from the G7 to Bilderberg for hours as we sat in a traffic jam while all the locals complained about the criminals who turned their town upside down for a week.
We ended up having to take a back road to Telfs Austria and as we pulled up to the Interalpen hotel where they were hosting the Bilderberg conference they had some serious police checkpoints and the mood was much different than at the G7 where police seemed to be very nice and helpful to journalists/writers. Now, that had turned completely and we were treated like potential threats.
However, I just let them know we just came from the G7 and were going to check about rooms. Somehow, they let us in and as soon as we were in the hotel a number of other journalists heard about it and tried to follow our lead but as soon as we had entered no one was allowed to enter again.
I managed to book a room but they told me we had to check out on Wednesday at 10am and we agreed. We then headed down to the bar and the all of the White House Press Correspondents were all there. Apparently they had stayed at this hotel for the G7 and were just shuttled into the G7 for photo opps by military/police helicopters.
We had a few drinks, and they did too, and we just casually chatted. We asked them if they were covering Bilderberg and no one knew what we were talking about… no one! They just said that they were being flown out on Tuesday back to the US.
Luke Rudkowski of We Are Change and Dan Dicks of Press For Truth told them what Bilderberg was and they were shocked they didn’t even know about it. We told them, “You should stay, this is where the real story is.”
They then told us that they don’t get paid to cover the “real story” and were quite apologetic and even told us, “We really respect what you do… but we have bills to pay.”
Many of them, quite honestly, I think, said they were going to look more into what we do and thanked us for what we do.
We then went to sleep and when we awoke the entire hotel was empty. We were the only three guests in the hotel.
Then, Dan Dicks and Luke Rudkowski went to take a look around the hotel and actually found the room where the conference was to be held. As far as we know it is the only time independent media has ever seen the actual room. Unfortunately just as they pulled out their cameras security guards started running towards them telling them they had to leave immediately.
They then came up to our room and told me how they are checking out who we are and we may have to leave the hotel. They even played Luke’s Youtube video from last year at Bilderberg and then they really started to freak out.
The Chief of Police in Austria then came up with the head of security at the hotel and said we have to leave immediately.
I protested, saying that I had paid for the room for the night and am not a very happy client being told I had to leave.
They then said, “Everything is free… your hotel room from last night, dinner, drinks” (adding up to nearly 2,000 euros!) and I still scoffed and said, “I am going to give very bad reviews on Trip Advisor over this”.
They then said, “Listen guys, we know who you are and we are all going to be in a lot of trouble if you don’t leave immediately.”
I still said, “We have a contract to stay in this room tonight!”
And he said, “Listen, take anything you want… anything… just please go now”.
And so we emptied out the minibar and took nearly all of the robes, slippers and other memorabilia from the room and were escorted out.
You can hear it direct from Dan Dicks with a lot of great video footage here:
And here is Luke’s version of events where he even took photos of me sleeping after a stressful day/night:
While those videos look and are fun there is quite a bit of danger in the air here. Journalists/Media have been followed, accosted and threatened.
We still plan to be here for another few days and you can follow me on Facebook or even on Snapchat (which we have been using to immediately take and upload videos so they can’t be confiscated) under “dollarvigilantexxx”.
Luke Rudowski’s Instagram has documented some of our experiences:
If you don’t know what Bilderberg is by now, you are behind the times. Dan, Luke and myself are going to do everything in our power to bring you breaking news on what is going on here in Austria, which has a long history at the center of world affairs, having been on the border of the Habsburg Monarchy realm, the Soviet Union and the European Union for a time.
So far, however, it has been rather surreal as the G7 paid for all our food and drinks, we got a massively discounted hotel there and then we went to Bilderberg and were given everything for free! So, we’d like to thank the G7 and Bilderberg for their hospitality!
