Fresh anti-regime protests hit Bahrain
‘Bahraini people have held fresh demonstrations across the Persian Gulf kingdom to protest against the jail sentence given to prominent opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman.
Anti-regime protesters staged the rallies in the streets of the capital Manama and several other cities and villages across Bahrain on Friday to demand the release of all political prisoners, including Salman, the secretary general of Bahrain’s main opposition bloc al-Wefaq National Islamic Society.
Reports say that Al Khalifa regime security forces have attacked demonstrators in the village of Eker, south of Manama, and Sitra Island, southeast of the capital.’
