No new fracking licences will be awarded in Wales by the UK Government
‘Today the UK Government has confirmed it will not be issuing any new licences for onshore oil and gas extraction projects in Wales.
The Welsh Government has repeatedly said that it wanted to impose a “moratorium” on fracking and this announcement could give them the power to do that.
The news is bound to delight anti-fracking campaigners, some of whom set-up camp at an exploratory site in Borras, near Wrexham last year.’
