Obama Administration Is Responsible for the Current Animosity Between Russia and United States
In an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova pointed out that it is the policy of the Obama administration that has led to the current crisis in bilateral relations between her country and the United States.
“The problem is that the incumbent U.S. administration is trying to push on its people an anti-Russian model of the perception of the world,” she said in the interview posted on the newspaper’s website on Aug. 19. “Interestingly, the constructive interaction between press services gives us a reason to think that we can interact in the same manner in every other issue once the anti-Russian hysteria in the United States is over. We perfectly understand each other,” she added.
Tass reported Wednesday that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters that President Vladimir Putin is planning to take part in the upcoming United Nations General Assembly.
“The President is planning to take part in the session of the UN General Assembly. This is a great event in the life of the organization. This year we mark the 70th anniversary of this forum, which was created after the victory in the Great Patriotic War, in World War II. A record number of heads of state and government is expected to attend the session. Our president plans to take part in this event too,” Lavrov said.
