Congressman Busted for Cocaine; Voted for Drug Testing Food Stamp Recipients

By now most know of the incredible hypocrisy among many congressional and senate members, both state and federal. But this one is a true shiner. Southwest Florida republican Rep. Trey Radel is facing misdemeanor charges of cocaine possession.

He’s playing the remorseful sympathy card, of course. It’s the successful choice for swaying public opinion. He said he struggles “with the disease of alcoholism, and this led to an extremely irresponsible choice. As the father of a young son and a husband to a loving wife, I need to get help so I can be a better man for both of them.” So he snorts cocaine to snap out of his alcohol stupor?…

…But he was among those who voted to allow states to conduct drug testing on those who collect food stamps. Some who opposed reportedly remarked that some of their Congressional colleagues should pee in cups for drug testing also.’
