Police Use Water Cannons Against Protesting Farmers in Brussels
‘The Brussels Nieuws newspaper cited police sources as saying that some 4,800 farmers from across the European Union had gathered in Brussels’ European Quarter in downtown Brussels, where the buildings of major EU institutions are located.
According to the police sources, protesters threw eggs and firecrackers at officers. Waste and tires were set on fire in the streets, causing black clouds of smoke to appear above the European Quarter.’
