The radical left’s desecration of U.S. history and culture now starting to resemble a Stalinist purge
Radical American progressives have always fancied themselves “revolutionaries,” but a more apt description might be “authoritarians,” for if they had their way, your choice of expression, speech, belief system and especially political leanings would either match theirs or you would be deprived of them, and by force, if necessary.
There is no better proof of this than recent uproar over one of the Confederate South’s most iconic symbols, the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. Most commonly referred to these days as “the Confederate Flag,” the reality is the familiar “stars and bars” flag is but one design among many that were adopted by southern states who formed the Confederacy and the various armies formed within it.
Nevertheless, it was adopted nearly universally by Southern sympathizers and admirers of Southern culture and heritage in the decades following the Civil War – as well as by the Ku Klux Klan, one of the country’s oldest racist organizations. And that association is what outrages the purveyors of political correctness and progressive social engineers the most.’
