Dictatorship wins: Lords forced to back down on tax credits

‘It looks like our Tory dictatorship is to have its way over the plan to cut tax credits, despite objections from within the governing party itself.

What a shame the Lords have rolled over and given up at the mere suggestion that they might suffer sanctions if they stand up for their principles.

Perhaps they really are the chinless wonders we all suspected them to be.’
