Feds in Massachusetts arrest ex-Irish banking chief in advance of extradition
‘Federal authorities in Massachusetts have arrested a former Irish banking chief who was at the center of that country’s financial crisis so he can be extradited and face charges in Ireland.
U.S. Marshals picked up former Anglo Irish Bank chief executive David Drumm on a warrant to extradite him to Ireland, according to the U.S. Attorney’s spokeswoman Christina Sterling. She did not say where Drumm was arrested.
She said Drumm would remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals until Tuesday, when he will appear at the Moakley Courthouse before Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler.’
