Teenager begging ‘out of desperation’ in Swansea must pay £150 criminal court charge
‘A homeless teenager has been hit with a £150 court charge after admitting begging in the centre of Swansea.
Swansea Magistrates Court heard that 19-year-old Steffan Rowland Thomas was seen by a PCSO sitting in doorway of an empty shop on High Street, asking passers-by for money.
He was subsequently arrested, and in his police interview said he did not know what he was doing was an offence.’
