The Headlines So Far Today: 28 October 2015
Bloomberg – China Steel Head Says Demand Slumping at Unprecedented Speed – [SH: I wonder if the fictional or notional part of the economy in which all the speculation and derivatives happen will ever catch up to the epic collapse in the real world part of the economy]?
Independent – Malnutrition and other ‘Victorian’ diseases soaring in England ‘due to food poverty and cuts’ – [SH: Yikes. Not just people saying they’re hungry, but actually being admitted to hospital for malnutrition! Many of them are older, suggesting it could be the cuts to the home visits, but there are also women in 40s and 50s they say, which suggests this could be mothers cutting back on own consumption to feed children instead]?
Stephen Roach – The Wrong War for Central Banking – [SH: Stephen Roach was someone we covered in the very earliest days of our internet radio material . . . I don’t say ‘podcasting’ as that term had not yet been ‘invented’ in 2003].
