Turkey’s HDP opposition leader unscathed after assassination attempt

‘The leader of the Turkish opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Selahattin Demirtas has survived an assassination attempt in Turkey’s southeastern province of Diyarbakır.

The failed attempt was made late on Sunday when the rear window of Demirtas’s bullet-proof car was hit once by a bullet as he and his security team were driving in the city of Diyarbakır, Reuters reported, citing an unnamed spokesperson of HDP.’
