‘The lives of children and other vulnerable groups in the Donbass region is under threat because of the onset of cold weather. This was announced by the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF). “The lives of some 700,000 children and other groups of people will be at risk unless the water-supply network is repaired in the affected regions, ” UNICEF said in a statement.

William Fellowes, the representative of the organization in Ukraine, said that the supply of water in the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk is difficult due to damage to water pipes and other infrastructure during the conflict. There is a good chance that in winter, the water supply system will freeze, leading to failure of heating systems.’
