Police bomb squad evacuate hundreds of people from buildings around London Bridge station as a ‘suspicious package’ causes massive security alert
‘Hundreds of people have been evacuated from buildings close to one of London’s busiest Tube stations this afternoon following the discovery of a ‘suspicious package’.
Trains at London Bridge Underground Station were unaffected but employees at nearby businesses were told to leave their buildings and head to an assembly point.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said specialist officers were continuing to deal with the security alert. Witnesses have reported seeing sniffer dogs being led to Counting House, the head office of charity Prostate Cancer UK.’
