Twitter Attacks Milo Yiannaopolous’ Anti-Establishment Tweets
Milo Yiannaopoulus of Breitbart is a rising star in the media world. His claim to fame was his early news coverage of the Gamergate controversy, criticizing what he saw as the politicization of video game culture by “an army of sociopathic feminist programmers and campaigners, abetted by achingly politically correct American tech bloggers.”
Twitter, which increasingly has a reputation for attacking users who do not conform to the establishment line, recently downgraded Yiannopoulus’ account without explanation.
Here’s how Breitbart put it:
[Milo’s unverifying] comes despite CEO Jack Dorsey declaring that Twitter “stands for freedom of expression” just a few months ago. Yiannopoulos was informed via email that due to “recent violations of the Twitter Rules,” the blue tick marking his account as verified by Twitter had been removed. He was not told what rule he had violated, nor if there was any appeal procedure.
Verified Twitter accounts are typically given to well-known figures as a defence against impersonation. They are distinguished from other Twitter accounts by a small blue checkmark in the top-right hand corner of a user’s profile.
Yiannopoulos … was verified in mid-2015 and is the subject of dozens, if not hundreds, of parody and fan accounts. He is listed on the Drudge Report as one of Matt Drudge’s favourite writers and is one of the rising stars of libertarian and conservative media. His unverification appears to be the first time a major media personality has been stripped of a blue badge by Twitter.
Yiannopoulos’s suspension upset a significant swath of the Twittersphere. The #JeSuisMilo hashtag was one of the top trending terms throughout the US and Europe with over 50,000 posted tweets.
It’s not just Twitter that has become increasingly censorific. Alexa is said to routinely downgrade the rankings of websites that don’t support a liberal-socialist format. LewRockwell.com is just one well-known site that has felt a financial squeeze due to Alexa’s actions. And Google has been well documented as turning off advertising revenue for sites like Antiwar.com and independent journalists who expose the system like Luke Rudkowski of We Are Change.
Milo is only the latest example of someone who likely has irritated the vast nebulous mass of elite controllers that squat behind the West’s carefully constructed corporate and legislative façade and determinedly try to squash the opposition.
The deep state has thrived on secrecy. Funded by another little-understood facility – central banking – the deep state worked best in the 20th century.
But now every aspect of its dealings increasingly stand exposed, stripped of persuasiveness and utility. Despite all the deep state can do, it cannot turn back the exposure of the internet.
These are historically atypical times. Never have so many understood their personal manipulation and their society’s secret control.
Milo Yiannopoulos also recently came out of the closet… not as being gay. He came out of that closet a long time ago. He came out of the statist closet and said he was an anarcho-capitalist. And for that he’ll be appearing at Anarchapulco, as he tweeted today.
Milo will be at Anarchapulco along with other courageous thinkers and doers who are gradually undermining the fabric of the deep state… and many of whom have been jailed in the land of the free for their views.
People like Adam Kokesh who was not afraid to dance at Jefferson’s monument in DC.
Or Larken Rose who went to jail to protest the IRS and now once again a free man courageously speaks the truth about the deep state.
Or Luke Rudkowski who has thrust his microphone in the faces of hypocritical billionaires and corrupt politicians around the world.
Or Barry Cooper the ex-drug cop who had to flee the US once he began fighting against the drug war.
Or Ken O’Keefe, an ex-marine who now fights against the American empire and its criminal wars.
The deep state wants you to believe that everyone is tracked, graded and spied upon. But there are too many of us and too few of them. We are a peaceable bunch undermining fascism and authoritarianism with truth.
For many of us, there’s no greater satisfaction than speaking truth to power. Anarachapulco is a chance for us to get together and share ideas and spirit enriching camaraderie.
This is freedom’s time.
Anarchapulco and our one-day sister conference, the TDV Internationalization & Investment Summit, are valuable ways of connecting with each other and gaining important knowledge about how to live free in an unfree world.
Join us. Show Twitter and other facilities of the deep state that increasingly their lies are exposed for all to see. And, join us to be part of history’s tide as it sweeps away the detritus of the 20th century’s rotten manipulations and murderous demagogues.
#JeSuisMilo.
