Ignore your constituents, Cameron tells MPs over EU referendum

The Prime Minister gave controversial orders to his MPs yesterday to ignore the Tory grassroots on Europe.

Surveys have repeatedly shown powerful support among local constituency parties for Britain quitting the EU.

Eurosceptics had pinned their hopes on grassroots campaigners convincing wavering MPs to declare for the ‘out’ campaign.
