Ireland: Homeless man jailed for stealing bags of clothes from recycling bin
‘A man (41) was jailed at Naas District Court for stealing bags of clothes from a recycling bin near Naas.
Czech Republic native Jiri Svoboda, who has been living in Ireland for 12 years, had especially-designed keys to open the container.
Judge Desmond Zaidan heard that the defendant had lost his job in the construction industry and had been living in his van.
A member of the public spotted Svoboda taking clothes from a recycling bin in Osberstown in March last year and alerted gardai.
The judge imposed an 11-month prison sentence for the theft.’
