Without government who will close the subways?
Next time someone tells you Government is more efficient than the private sector show them this:
The D.C. Metro system will be shutting down entirely Wednesday for safety checks, according to multiple reports. An announcement is expected soon.
NBC4 was first to report the systemwide closure. Also, WUSA9 reported that WMATA is expected to make a major announcement at 4:30 p.m. about Metro rail service following Monday’s cable fire that resulted in single-tracking and a major disruption in service for commuters.
The Washington Post is reporting that the Metro will be shut down for a total of 29 hours starting at midnight. Officials are trying to avoid a repeat of the deadly smoke incident at L’Enfant Plaza last year, according to the report.
Do you think a private business that regularly not only inconveniences its customers but actually puts their lives in danger would be able to stay in business? To ask the question is to answer it.
