Citizen’s Camera Captures Police Shooting of Baton Rouge Man After Officers’ Body Cameras ‘Fell Off’

‘In Baton Rouge, Louisiana late Tuesday night two white police officers rushed downtown in response to “a complainant who stated that a black male who was selling music cd’s and wearing a red shirt threatened him with a gun,” outside the Triple S Food Mart, a convenience store, a Facebook post by Baton Rouge Police Department said.
The suspect was a 37-year-old Alton Sterling, whom the police officers attempted to detain when arriving at the scene.
Soon after, Sterling was pinned down, shot and killed by the police. While the police officers’ body cameras conveniently “fell off” according to Police Chief Carl Dabadie, there was a video recorded of the scene, which has since circulated on social media.’
