Over 500,000 public sector workers receive counter-terror training

More than half a million public sector workers in the UK have received counter-terror training in order to spot and report potential extremists in their workplaces.

…Under the Prevent strand of the government’s counter-terror strategy, Contest, extremism is characterized as “vocal or active opposition to fundamental British values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs.”
