Egyptian state media claims ISIS was ‘made up’, 9/11 and attacks in Europe were not carried out by Islamists but by Western intelligence agencies ‘to justify the war on terror’

The September 11 attacks and subsequent atrocities in Europe were not carried out by Islamist terrorists, but by Western intelligence agencies, Egyptian state media has suggested.
An article in the country’s government daily newpaper Al-Ahram said the attacks were carried out to justify ‘the occupation and devastation of the Middle East by the West and the persecution of Muslims in Europe’.
